This
is a more in depth review
course than the English and
Language Arts TAKS Exit
Prep. Instead of just Prep
this course will offer more
review over Literary
Elements and Technique s
when it comes to poetry,
literature, and theater
while learning how to
analyze and critically
evaluate text. Also there
will be more in depth review
on reading and comprehension
as well as vocabulary. Part
of class a session will be
spent on Literary themes and
the other part of class will
be spent on writing and
grammar. This
course is designed to give
more in depth review for
students who are having
trouble with these
objectives instead of just
prep for the TAKS Exit Test
(TAKS prep is for any kind
of prep a student needs for
the TAKS Test).
There will be practice exams
and quizzes to help students
review the major objectives
and there will also be one
on one help with students in
areas of study that they are
having trouble with. The
key elements of study for
this course are general
discussion between small
groups of students, practice
exams, and one on one help
by the teacher of this
course. Class limit is 6
students, but 7 students can
in the class if there is not
another class for the 7th
student to join.

other course is

Themes, which
corresponds with
what the student
is learning in
school.
